Most dear and faithful servant of Christ, blessed St Anthony, to whom God has granted such favours that, through your intercession, lost temporal goods are recovered, pray for me, a sinner, that I may acquire and preserve peace of mind...

It is generally believed that one of the most acceptable devotions offered to Saint Anthony is the recital of once or thrice the Creed. Many also add the aspiration:

"St Anthony, beloved of God and man, pray for us."

  3. Many ask Saint Anthony for temporal favors, but fewer seek spiritual favors such as conversion, increase of virtue, and final perseverance in grace. Eternal needs of the soul must come before temporal needs.
